Android App of the Week: Dolphin Browser HD

Dolphin Browser? Who needs an app that lets you browse dolphins? Yeah, I don’t know who would need that except for a few marine biologist types. Luckily the Dolphin Browser HD isn’t that kind of app, it is a web browser that seriously completely replaces the default web browser that came loaded on my Motorola Droid. This browser is completely modern. Tabs, gestures, and it had pinch zooming before Android even unlocked multi-touch (those cheeky devils).

I knew that this browser was something special when I found myself using my Droid to look up IMDB information instead of reaching for my laptop. I like the way it looks, the way it works, and the way that I feel it has increased my personal productivity. I can now easily check on several forums that I monitor thorughout the day without sitting down at the computer. I feel I’m using my time in the analog world much more effectively, turning the wait at the coffee shop for my medium house coffee to go into three minutes I can get the last word in on a particularly heated flame war. I WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD!
