Nobody uses the Internet on Friday

Are you prepared for the quickest Nobody uses the Internet on Friday?

I’m rushed.  Super rushed.  So we get the quick tour of stuff I found.

On Top of the Earth Day

Earth Day was last week and while some people simply chose not to litter on that day, maybe picked up some trash they saw on the ground, one group of intrepid spirits decided to clean up Mt. Everest.

Mt. Everest, apparently, is littered with the detritus of climbing expeditions, which include oxygen bottles, tents, poles, bodies… yes, there are a few dead bodies up there. They will be cleaning in the region that is referred to as the Death Zone, the area above 8,000 feet above sea level that is noted for treacherous terrain and lack of oxygen.

They just make the rest of us look like chumps for not picking up that candy wrapper we see on the ground. For shame!

Happy Birthday!

In the category of somethings just aren’t right, I bring to your collective attention that if you first stop off to celebrate somebody’s birthday and can’t due to unfortunate circumstances, don’t use the signage. Just don’t do it.

Honestly, no.  No matter if it is a great picture, don’t do it.

Catch a tiger by the tale.

Speaking of ‘doing it wrong’ a zoo in China decided it would be cool to let visitors pet and pretend to ride a tiger.  Despite all the claims that the animal is tame, tigers are predators, large strong powerful dangerous predators.   Siegfried and Roy know a little bit about large feline predators and they knew that no matter how close they are to them, how long they’ve known them, at the end of the day, the cat is never truly tame.

Seriously, even our ‘tame’ housecats aren’t really tame, they merely have found a beneficial balance with us.  If ever the cats had to choose between them or us, I don’t even think I need to finish that sentence.

Well, that is the quick and dirty version of Nobody uses the Internet on Friday.  Next week’s might also be truncated due to a time crunch, but I promise it will be well worth it as more yummy content (that means food stuff) will be posted in a few weeks as I return from my international travels.

Until next week, keep using the Internet or else it will get lonely and cry.
