As the Geek Index indicates, it is a very good time to be a geek. There is only one core reason why the Geek Index spiked over the weekend: Avatar. A science fiction movie made with cutting edge technology with amazing fantastic battle sequences between flying dragon like creatures, massive gunships, and mech suits has geek written all over it. TV returned some geek love last week with The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, and CSI coming in the top 10 rated shows for the week.
I’m predicting this week will only continue to be buoyed by the success of Avatar but I think the stock market is going to take a deep breath on a lot of geek related companies, biding time until just right before the Consumer Electronic Show in January.
