2007 Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais-Villages

I like Beaujolais wines. They do tend to be a bit insipid but they are like a cute flirty girl that just wants to have some fun, no strings attached. There is rarely any effort needed, no trying to understand the deeper layers of the personality. What you see is what you get.

This 2007 Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais-Villages turned all that on its ear. This was the cute flirty girl that likes to have fun that makes you want to know more about the deeper layers of her personality. This is the cute flirty girl you want to introduce to all your friends because it will show all of them that you do actually have good taste.

The complexity of this wine isn’t really on the tongue. If it were a song, it would be a simple melody, not an orchestral piece. The smell of it is definitely exciting and probably makes more promises than the wine can keep but I was okay with that.

I paired this with steak, mushroom, and garlic potatoes and the meal overwhelmed the wine. Lighter flavors are definitely called for if drinking this wine. Honestly, roasted chicken would be ideal.

I picked up this wine from Whole Foods and will be purchasing it again.
