Effen Lemon Drop Martini

What to do with a bottle of Effen vodka? Make cocktails of course. Duh!

Sean’s Effen Lemon Drop Martini1

The Ingredients

Ingredients:

1 medium sized lemon
1 oz of simple syrup
1 1/2 oz Effen vodka
2 tbsp sugar

Ice your martini glass, fill the martini shaker with ice, pour in the vodka, simple syrup, and fresh squeezed lemon juice.  Give it a good shake.  Dump out the ice from your glass, run lemon around your glass rim, and give it a dip in the sugar so you get that delicious sweetness clinging to your glass.

Now add in your freshly shaken cocktail to the glass.

Garnish with a piece of lemon and enjoy. Technically this is enough for two servings. I live alone and I can’t let the other half go to waste, can I?

1 Yes, I know this isn’t a real martini and in general I oppose calling cocktails martinis just because they are served in a martini glass, but I also recognize I’m not going to win that fight.  Better mad with the rest of the world than wise alone.
